On January 7th at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Rebit announced their new backup solution, SaveMe. Rebit’s SaveMe is the only true backup and recovery solution that people can refer to as “instant”. The thing is, Rebit starts working the minute it is installed.

I used to get this question a lot, people would ask me about backup solutions, as their complaints would be, “how do I use it, its too complicated”, “i want something easy”, “i want it to do it on its own”, “i want to be in control”, “i don’t want adware coming with the backup drive”. Well from what I can see (I will be doing a hands-on review soon) Rebit’s backup solutions provide that! Rebits offerings insist on keeping PCs continuously protected from crashes, viruses or accidental file deletions. Like all Rebit products, it is continuous, complete, and easy to use. There are no buttons, no schedules, and no configurations. In the event of a catastrophe, one can easily and quickly recover individual files, entire folders, or restore the complete system to a point in time.
At the heart of the SaveMe product line is Rebit’s exclusive SmartSave™ Personalization Technology. An industry-first, SmartSave automatically, easily and dynamically delivers complete backup and recovery while providing additional storage space for personal files such as music, movies, podcasts and other data. Who would say no to that?
While competing backup products (such as Western Digital’s MyBook and HP’s SimpleSave) continue to increase the amount of data stored until there is no more room, SmartSave uniquely grows and shrinks the amount of historical data, while never leaving a user’s system unprotected. Amazing isnt it?
“Now consumers can easily add the specific content they want to their hard drives, and still rest easily knowing their entire operating system is protected,” commented Charlene Murphy, executive vice president of sales and marketing, Rebit, Inc. “With SaveMe’s new SmartSave Personalization Technology, consumers have much more flexibility. We are pleased to provide this ground-breaking feature.”
SaveMe backs up and recovers a maximum of six PCs. Portable backup drives are available in 250GB, 320GB, and 500GB models. Desktop drives are available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB. SaveMe backup software is also available for use with one’s own hard drive. For the value-consumer requiring only single-PC backup and recovery, Rebit now offers SaveMe Express backup software, which does not include SmartSave.
SaveMe backup drives and software CDs are now available in the U.S. to computer retailers and resellers through ASI Computer Technologies (www.asipartner.com) and D&H Distributing (www.dandh.com), and to consumers through retailers including Amazon.com, Tiger Direct, and Rebit’s web site store (www.Rebit.com).
A hands-on review of Rebit SaveMe solutions is coming soon. Keep posted!
