Well, I got my chicBuds Sport Headphones today, very speedy delivery, only a few days. So let’s start off with the review, from the outside, in.

Packaging

Cute packaging, with beautiful background artistry to add that extra bit of “chic” to it. Clear plastic, with cable and jack, inside the cardboard boxing. The marketing on the packaging of these headphones makes you want to rip that box open, and see really how good these are. On one side of the packaging, it states “Headphones never looked so good”. We will talk about that later. On the other side, it says “Incredible Insulating Sound”. On the front, of course it says the name of the headphones with pink font type. The back is where the laughter starts. The warning label on the back made me laugh really hard, because yes, it’s true “Warning: May cause other people to stare”

In terms of packaging, I give it 5/5

Product Design

All I can say on this, is its “interesting”. The vibrant colors separate these from your standard “black” headphones. These “REALLY” stand out, as the package marketing says. For the multi-colored version, the colors consist of a yellow headband, green sides, yellow and red. What is interesting, and pretty cool, is that these headphones fold. The ear cups consist of standard foam that you find on most high quality headphones. The cord consists of a reddish-orange based cord, which actually, is quite good gauge of wire, which is a good plus. It’s very long which is a really good thing, as I always have trouble with really short headphones, cause I have my iPod in my pocket, and yeah, the fact that I’m tall, makes headphones with short cords, a pain.
What could be improved was right off the bat, I was looking for a volume adjustment on the cord, this, unfortunately, was not there. The colors, could be a little more “chic”, lighter colors, pink, baby blue, etc.. These headphones look really retro, which is kind of cool honestly. The band connectors, well, to add a bit more “effect” to these headphones, there are 9 holes on the yellow headband at the top, these holes should be filled with small sparkly Swarovski crystals, as well with the connector screws on the side of the headband, instead of just brushed metal.

I’ll give product design a 4/5, because of the colors (of the multi-colored version), but note, there is a hot pink version which looks cool, and the fact that there is no volume adjustment is a real need for these headphones.

Product Quality

When I put these on, plugged them in, and opened some songs on my computer I was like WOW. These sound absolutely amazing! I have NEVER experienced such quality on a pair of headphones under $100. Very clear bass and low tones, without that “muffled” effect you usually get on cheap headphones. These headphones fit VERY comfortably on my head and over my ears.
